Our presenter:

David Shraga has been a practicing lawyer and studio executive in Los Angeles for over 20 years, and offers a unique insider’s perspective on the entertainment industry as an entertainment and intellectual property litigator, in-house dealmaker, and also as a private mediator.

He is the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Television Business & Legal Affairs at Miramax, where he oversees all deal negotiations related to the studio’s domestic and international productions and licensing deals. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs for Universal International Studios, where he advised prominent producers like Working Title Television, Carnival Films and Heyday Television, and handled deals in the UK, Canada, Australia and beyond. David has also served as a Senior Counsel for Legal Affairs for Universal Pictures, where he worked on all aspect of the film studio’s productions.

Before going in house David spent a dozen years as a litigator, where he represented celebrities, production companies, high-wealth individuals, entrepreneurs, and a wide range of business in a variety of litigation matters, with an emphasis in intellectual property and entertainment disputes. After graduating Yale College and USC Law School he trained as a Senior Associate at the boutique entertainment litigation firm Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan LLP, before leaving to found his own law firm where he served as the managing partner. As an entrepreneur he expanded his practice to include the prosecution and defenses of class actions, as well as a broader spectrum of contingency matters for plaintiffs.
